Cellerity™
Fully automated culturing of multiple cell lines
The Cellerity system fully automates cell culture processes such as cell line maintenance, expansion, harvesting and plating. It provides high quality, consistent cells that are appropriate for cell-based assays or to produce cell-based products, in a rapid and cost-effective, walk-away instrument. The system is easy to control with its intuitive software that allows users to request cells for delivery on specific dates, ready for screening.
Cellerity provides full automation of cell culture, maintenance and downstream processes for a wide range of cell lines from...
- Walkaway culture of multiple cell lines, simultaneously.
- No need to come in over the weekend.
- System can be adapted to meet your throughput needs.
- Works with automationfriendly RoboFlasks.

Freedom EVO® Cell Seed and Feed Workstation
Automated cell dispensing and media exchange
The Cell Seed and Feed Workstation automates two major cell culture processes: dispensing of cells into microplates or insert plates, and exchanging media. The Freedom EVO-based system implements a number of features that help to maintain a sterile working environment for extended periods of time. It is especially useful when working with slow growing cell lines, such as colorectal carcinoma (Caco-2) cells. The
platform is easily controlled using the powerful Freedom EVOware® software.
The Cell Seed and Feed Workstation includes all necessary components and features for unattended cell feeding over extended time periods in a sterile working environment, including:
- refrigerated storage for up to five different media
- in-line warming of media prior to dispensation
- positive pressure HEPA filtered environment enclosing the Freedom EVO deck
- filling of liquid handling paths with a disinfectant during idle time
- the liquid handling arm separates the dispensing of...

Cellerity™
The fully automated solution for cell culture work
Cellerity™ does more than just grow and maintain cells. It can also automate down-stream processes including transient transfections and dye-loading protocols delivering cells that are ready to be assayed.Mycoplasma detection can be automated using the Cambrex MycoAlert™ assay and an optional integrated Tecan reader. The automation friendly flasks also enable detection of contamination using non-destructive turbidity measurements of...

Automatic Cell Line Propagation, Expansion and
Assay Preparation on Tecan® Cellerity™
Cellerity is Tecan’s solution for fully automated culturing of several cell lines in parallel utilizing microplate-sized cell culture flasks and plates. Cellerity was configured to deliver HEK-293 cells in 384 well assay plates ready for compound screening. A series of replicate plate production runs were produced by Cellerity over the course of 22 days. The data generated on cell count, cell viability and functionality demonstrate that Cellerity is able to automatically and reliably deliver cells in the required quality for...

Engineering new biomaterials for human implants
Scientists at the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich, Switzerland, are collaborating with Tecan to optimize automated liquid handling systems for cell and tissue culture. The Cell Biology Division at the University’s Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology (ICB) specializes in developing cell culture technologies and tissue engineering, including the in vitro development and investigation of biomaterials for bone, cartilage, intervertebral discs, teeth and other connective tissue implants. It is essential that these materials are tested to high standards of quality with minimal variation, so the group has been developing...

Perfecting technology for the NIH Roadmap
Scientists at Columbia University have created three fl exible, fully automated workstations based on Freedom EVO® 200 platforms for the assay development work they are performing as part of the NIH Molecular Libraries Roadmap initiative.
A year into the NIH Roadmap initiative, a team of researchers at Columbia University has established a truly remarkable, purpose-built assay facility in the middle of Manhattan. The new 6,000 square foot facility, which has been set up from scratch, is one of ten screening centers in the US that together form the MLSCN, the Molecular Libraries Screening Centers Network. The centers aim to bring in a range of diff erent types of assays from the scientifi c community, both enzymatic and high content cellbased assays, and...
