Pressure Monitored Pipetting™ (PMP)

The Pressure Monitored Pipetting is a sophisticated online tool for real-time quality control of the liquid transfer process. Integration of the PMP tool in the Freedom EVO® series of liquid handling workstations increases process security, particularly for liquids prone to clotting.

PMP measures and records the pressure in the pipetting channel during aspiration and dispense and instantly compares the measured profile to the real-time-simulated profile.

Flawless liquid transfer
	When the measured pressure profile matches the real-time simulated profile, PMP designates the liquid transfer as “correct”. This confirms that the dispensed volume is as expected.
Tip occlusion
	An abrupt under-pressure in a measured pressure profile, during the aspiration, indicates a tip occlusion, leading to insufficient volume dispensed.
Air aspiration
	Irregularities in a measured pressure profile, indicate air aspiration, leading to insufficient volume dispensed
