Liquid Handling Disposable Tips

Tecan offers a wide range of disposable tips for use with the liquid handling (LiHa) arm on the Freedom EVO® series instruments, carefully designed, produced and validated to ensure reliable liquid handling performance.

LiHa Disposable Tips are available in a variety of tip volume sizes, with or without filters, and are made of conductive polypropylene to allow liquid level detection. In addition, tip trays are color-coded for easy visual determination of tip volume on the worktable. Manufacturing is fully automated in a Class 8 clean room using state-of-the-art production processes and integrated quality control procedures, and each tip undergoes online optical inspection, checking all functional parts to ensure consistent pipetting accuracy and precision.

Three purity levels are available – Tecan Standard, Tecan Pure and Tecan Sterile – each tailored towards specific applications. Tecan Standard tips are supplied in space­saving cardboard packaging, and Tecan Pure tips, for applications such as molecular diagnostics, forensics and genomics research, are blister packed. The newly launched Tecan Sterile – Tecan’s highest purity level – LiHa Disposable Tips are ideally suited to high content, cell-based assays and screens and microbiology applications. Tecan Sterile tips are available in SBS-format boxes, increasing flexibility on the worktable and offering higher throughput and longer walkaway times, by ensuring full compatibility with the Freedom EVO workstation’s storage and automation devices.

    clinical use.

*** Tecan recommends pipetting conditions based on pre-defined liquid classes. These optimized
     conditions will reduce the maximum pipetting volume to 4’850μl for the non-filtered and
     to 4’800μl for the filtered version of the 5ml LiHa disposable tip.
