Researchers at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) in Germany have incorporated the Fluent Automation Workstation into their workflow to enable rapid engineering of microbial strains that can convert renewable raw materials into value-added compounds. Creation and testing of novel producer strains with complex biosynthetic pathways is extremely slow and error prone when performed manually, and the Fluent allowed the researchers to increase the throughput and accuracy of their application.
