Tecan’s SPE solutions offer a comprehensive sample preparation portfolio, spanning from columns and wellplates designed for positive pressure systems bringing core competencies of performance and reproducibility to solid phase extraction (SPE) workflows.
Sample preparation can be a well-known bottleneck in analytical workflows. Tecan’s unique NBE format empowers labs by combining workflow steps to deliver faster and efficient processes.
Only the NBE format features a unique dual-chamber design that combines a reaction vessel with an SPE column. This provides the ability to integrate pre-SPE steps, such as digestion, incubation and hydrolisis, into your SPE workflow without the need for transferring samples to another device.
Tecan‘s SPE devices use microparticulate sorbent providing efficiency for sample preparation. Microparticulate sorbent offers narrow flow paths designed to increase analyte interactions with the sorbent bed for optimal capture of small molecules. These increased interactions provide an effective clean-up of samples while enriching the target analyte for downstream protocols and analyses.
Cerex columns and well plates are wet-packed (slurry) providing a consistent and reliable product from batch-to-batch. With various chemistries available from C18 to affinity chromatography, these columns are ready to use out of the box for a multitude of assays requiring effective sample clean-up.
Cerex is an industry standard format available in 1 ml, 3 ml, and 6 ml sizes to accomodate each lab’s sample volume.
AffinEx is a rigid polymeric sorbent with a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) matrix to allow structural stability when dry removing refrigeration needs during shipping/handling and storage. Designed for antibody purification from various cell culture samples, AffinEx protein A can be combined with Tecan‘s Narrow Bore Extraction (NBE) format allowing on-column digestions in the upper reaction chamber.
Both Cerex and NBE column formats are optimized for automation providing parallel processing on Resolvex instruments helping to significantly reduce time spent in workflows. Labs can process up to 96 wells simultaneously using automation enhancing reproducibility and throughput when compared to typical techniques such as magnetic beads or HPLC.
Atlas is a hydrophilic-lipophilic balanced (HLB) polymeric sorbent with an N-vinylpyrrolidonedivinylbenzene copolymer. It provides selectivity for both polar and non-polar analytes allowing the user to extract a variety of samples with ease. The divinylbenzene lipophilic backbone provides hydrophobic selectivity while the pyrrolidone hydrophilic chemistry helps to increase interactions with polar functional groups of the analyte.
Atlas is also available with a strong cation exchange chemistry (Atlas SCX) to provide focused cleanup when working with basic compounds.
Positive pressure processing with Resolvex instruments can optimize SPE workflows with intuitive controls. From manual systems for small-scale methods to fully integrated processing solutions, labs can confidently process up to 96 samples at a time in parallel. Individual flow restrictors on Resolvex processors ensure even distribution of force applied to each column or well.
The next generation Resolvex A200 Omics builds on existing automation capabilities and positive pressure processes of the Resolvex A200, providing additional features that expand the platform‘s capabilities enabling automated benchtop proteomic workflows.
The HEPA filter creates a clean environment within the system for sample preparation workflows requiring little to no contamination. Confidently capture target compounds knowing your results can be reproduced with a combination of automation and improved air quality.
