    Tecan is dedicated to inspiring innovation and curiosity in our youth. The Tecan Scholarship Program provides scholarships for youth to purse their interest in the environment and/or science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.).

    Who Can Apply?

    Scholarship recipients must be sponsored by an active Tecan US employee. If you’re between the ages of 6-18 who have been fully admitted to a Qualified Program in the United States or Canada, are invited to apply!

    The Tecan Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident card) who have not received a Tecan Scholarship within the current fiscal year.

    Which Programs Qualify?

    Scholarships will be awarded to students participating in S.T.E.M. and environmentally focused programs. Eligible programs include:

    • Day camps or overnight camps designed to teach children S.T.E.M. or environmental concepts and learning opportunities outside of the traditional classroom
    • Summer programs with opportunities for hands-on activities, field trips, and lectures dedicated to furthering education in S.T.E.M. or environmental learning
    • S.T.E.M. or environmental club (such as robotics clubs, coding clubs, environmental science clubs, etc.) memberships dues, fees, and/or travel expenses
    • Pre-college enrichment programs, courses, or workshops with S.T.E.M. or environmental focus for qualified age ranges

    Submission Requirements

    • Recent photo of the scholarship applicant
    • Brochure, flyer, or web address providing details about the Qualified Program in which the applicant is seeking a scholarship
    • Completed and approved registration and/or enrollment in a Qualified Program
    • 100 - 250 word essay or up to 3-minute video that shares:
       
      • Why are you excited about attending this program?
      • What are you most interested in learning during the program?
      • How will this education benefit your community or the world?

    FAQs

    • How much is the Tecan Scholarship?
      Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded per applicant per year.

    • What is the deadline for submission?
      Applications deadlines: January 5th, March 1st, June 1st, and August 1st.

    • What happens if I miss the submission deadline?
      All applications received prior to the cutoff dates will receive consideration during the upcoming Committee Meeting. Any applications received after the quarterly deadline, will be considered at the following Committee Meeting.

    • How do I know if I won?
      Once a winner has been chosen a member of the committee will contact that individual/parent directly to notify them. The committee member will also discuss the next steps for sending the funds at that time.

    • How many students can be sponsored by a Tecan US employee?
      Each Tecan employee may only sponsor one applicant per year for scholarship consideration.

    • How often are funds distributed?
      Funds will be distributed to applicants quarterly.
