Compatibility of virus scanners

Is my virus scanner software compatible with EVOware®?

Tecan has not tested nor recommends any particular antivirus software. We do not recommend running the virus scanner while EVOware® software is funning. This can cause error during the run and the run can be aborted or produce inaccurate results. However, if the virus scanner must be used while EVOware® is running, we recommend ''whitelisting'' the following directories and all subfolders from the scan.

C:\Program Files (x86)\TECAN

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Tecan

C:\ProgramData\Tecan

Once ''whitelisted'' in the antivirus program, these folders will not be actively scanned, thus will not hinder the EVOware® operations.

Note: The Program Data directory is usually hidden. In this case, display hidden items in Windows® and then exclude the directory from the scan.
