This article shows how to troubleshoot FACTS.System error at the Freedom EVOware® startup.
FACTS.Systems- Unspecified error at the Freedom EVOware® startup can have several root causes. The typical root cause is when the Freedom EVOware® is not properly shut down, and the below pop-up messages are displayed.
To solve the issue, please perform following steps:
- Make sure that the Freedom EVOware® software is closed. Otherwise, suggested actions will not have any effect.
- Go to the Windows Start/Tecan folder/ Shutdown EVOware drivers and use the tool Shutdown EVOware drivers.
Note: After clicking on Shutdown EVOware drivers, nothing will happen on the desktop, however it will run in the background and unload the drivers automatically. One can then directly restart the Freedom EVOware® software.
Preventive Actions
To avoid this issue in the future, please always unload the drivers when shutting down Freedom EVOware®by selecting the Unload drivers box is ticked and then click Exit. Please see the example below.
Then select the “Exit” button, unload drivers button to shut down the Freedom EVOware® software properly.
If you run Freedom EVOware® for an extended period without unloading the drivers, this can result in a slight degradation in performance of scripts and processes.
Accordingly, we recommend unloading the drivers using the “Exit, Unload drivers” button in the menu of Freedom EVOware® and then re-starting the software every six/seven days. Microsoft Windows® can also suffer from a slight degradation in performance – independently of Freedom EVOware® – if you do not shut down and restart your PC from time to time.
The driver pre-loading feature can be disabled in the Configuration Tool tab General/Devices information.
If you have made configuration changes using the Configuration Tool, the drivers will be unloaded automatically when you quit Freedom EVOware®.
