HydroControl closes after Login

1. Usual root causes

When starting HydroControl™, a small login window appears. Despite entering a correct username and password, HydroControl™ closes with no errors or further notifications.
HydroControl™ offers a function called "auto login", which stores the login details of one admin user and allows users to launch the software without entering username and password. If this admin user password expires and must be changed, the auto login is not updated. This leads to a mismatch between the current password and the password stored in auto login.

2. First aid

• Click “Cancel” to close the login dialog.
• A larger login window opens where you can log in with the current username and password.
• Open “Tools” and then “Options” and disable auto login.
• Auto login can be directly re-enabled.
• Consider changing the password expiration setting in the “User Administration Options”. By default, the password expires after 90 days, but this can be changed to a maximum of 36500 days.

3. Typical solution

If the issue cannot be resolved, contact Tecan® for further support.

5. Next steps

• Note your instrument serial number.
• If the instrument is controlled by HydroControl™, save the log files.
• Create a service request and include the serial number and log files.
