IoT Client 3.1: for FluentControl 3.7 and newer and vControl 1.1 and newer
Note: Digital Dispensers Uno, Duo and D300e are now supported as well, here is how to connect them: How to connect your Digital Dispenser to Introspect for DispenseControl
Download the IoT Client – Zip – File, extract all files and start the Setup with local Windows administrator rights. The setup runs the installation program to install the IoT Client.

After the installation was completed you find the IoT Client Configuration tool in the task bar. Select the red IoT Client icon with a right mouse click. This opens the menu where you can start the registration window by clicking register.
IoT Client 3.0 and newer:

located in the taskbar. - Select “Settings”, to open the Configuration tool.
- Navigate to the configuration tab and enter the Alias if required, the proxy and certificate details can be added optionally.

- Once you have entered the necessary details in the configuration tab, navigate to the registration tab and click on REGISTER IOT CLIENT.

- The next step will be to assign the instruments to an organization and to users, which is needed that you are able to see the data in Introspect.
Setting up the organization
Assign users and instruments in the Organization management page. A user with administrator rights in Organization Management has to configure the structure of the organization to provide users access to instruments data. At minimum, one layer must be assigned with instruments and users.
In the section Organization Management Managing instruments in Introspect you can find the instructions for setting up the organizations.

Firewall
If no data is sent after the installation and set up have been completed, you might need to check the firewall settings. The firewall must allow data to be sent using WebSockets, and the URLs in the table below must be accessible.
|
URL1 |
Port |
Protocol |
|
443 |
TCP |
|
|
443 |
TCP |
|
|
https://cdn.auth0.com/js/lock/* |
443 |
TCP |
|
https://tecan-iot-hub-prod.azure-devices.net/* |
8883 / 443 |
TCP |
|
https://tecan-sigr-ignite.service.signalr.net/* |
443 |
TCP |
These URLs need to be whitelisted in the firewall.
Activate WebSocket
Depending on the settings on the local network, WebSockets might be blocked. This is most likely due to explicit blocking by the local IT set-up. If that’s the case, they should be activated for the above listed URLs. If there are no specific local configurations to block WebSockets, they are usually activated by default.
Proxy server
In case you manage your internet access via a proxy server, the settings can be detected automatically. Otherwise, the address and port number can be set manually during the registration of the IoT client.
If the proxy server requires authentication, IoT client provides the ability to configure username and password.
Troubleshooting
In case some of the IoT Client states are not green, check the following:
- IoT Client Not Running:
- Try to start the IoT client from the tray icon or contact your support.
- Not Registered:
- Either the IoT client is not running or that the iot client is not registered. Initiate the registration process.
- Tecan Cloud Connection:
- Either the IoT client is not running, is not registered or the iothub URL over MQTT (8883) cannot be reached. Check that port 8883 and 443 are open and https://tecan-iot-hub-prod.Azure-devices.Net/* domain is whitelisted.
- Internet Connection:
This one is red if the IoT client is not running or if the https://digital.tecan.com over HTTPS (port 443) cannot be reached. Check that port 443 is open and digital.tecan.com domain is whitelisted.
