Learn how to import a sample ID list to your method or workspace file in Magellan™
Introduction
Sample ID lists not created with Magellan must be imported into Magellan before being used. This article describes how to define a sample ID list import in Magellan. There are three options how to import a sample ID list:
- A sample ID list import can be defined in a method file, to enable an automatic import during the measurement.
- After the measurement, a sample ID list import can also be defined for a workspace file.
- Before starting a measurement, a sample ID list import can be performed manually.
Magellan is able to automatically recognize the following sample ID list formats:
- Easy-Files .esy, Tecan files .tpl, DD1-Files .dd1, Hamilton-Files .pro, APL-Files .apl, Gemini-Files .csv
Please note: Each file type has a specific structure – please also refer to the chapter Create/Edit a Sample ID List Wizard in the instructions for use in the Magellan Manual.
- Sample ID lists that do not conform with the supported file types have to be imported as custom format files (*.*). This applies for example to .txt, Excel files (saved as a comma delimited .csv), or ASCII files (.ascii). If a custom format file is selected, a new window will appear.
